Research

In line with the interdisciplinary orientation of the IZMF, emphasis is on interdisciplinary research approaches. This applies both to the multi-year main topics as well as to the work at the Institute for Medieval and Early Modern Material Culture with a special focus on the study of material culture. Due to the long-standing experience with the Middle High German Conceptual Database and the database projects at the IMAREAL, the centre has become a specialist in the integration of methods and questions of “Digital Humanities”.
